Who we are and what we
do
Hereford and Worcester GP Education is part of the
West Midlands Deanery, the organisation
with responsibility for postgraduate medical and
dental education throughout the West Midlands
Strategic Health Authority area. The Deanery is
divided into five Programmes (formerly known as
sub-deaneries), Birmingham and Solihull, The Black
Country, Coventry and Warwickshire, Shropshire and
Staffordshire and Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
These Programmes report to the Board of the West
Midlands Postgraduate School for General Practice.
Each Programme has an Associate Dean who has
responsibility for general practice vocational
training, practice-based education of other doctors
in training, continuing professional development and
workforce issues. We also work with primary care,
community and acute trusts, local medical committees
and universities.
The Associate Dean and Programme Director for Herefordshire and Worcestershire is Vic Schrieber.
He also has responsibility for trainer development in the West Midlands Deanery. This includes commissioning courses for prospective trainers and educational supervisors.
Our office is in the RCGP Midland Faculty Office in Birmingham Research Park where Kate Faulkner-Elliott is the Programme Administrator.
